Sela is easily reached from the visitor centre of as-Sila, in the Tafilah area. It can be reached with a normal car, no 4x4 is needed. However, the access to the site itself (to the top of the outcrop) is complicated, it takes about 40 minutes walking and climbing the 200 m high limestone formation. A modern stairway, partially based on the older one, takes the visitor to the top of the summit No signpost indicates the actual site, nor the presence of the Nabonidus inscription on the slope of the rock. |
