Ca. 8 km.s south of as-Salt, situated on a artificially flattened rock outcrop (to make way for buildings), today surrounded by agricultural fields.
Site Significance:
Scientific Value The site is perhaps the closest undisturbed multi-period site to as-Salt (Tell Gador, albeit heavily overbuilt and therefore not fit for exploration). The site has been proposed to be identified with biblical "Jazer" mentioned numerous times in the Old Testament. The identification, needless to say, remains unproven, albeit a first occupation of the site in the Iron Age is likely (de Vaux 1938; Wright et al. 1989, Site "no. 17").

Aesthetic Value Medium. The specific setting on top of a destinctive rock outcrop has an aesthetic value. The site is diverse from other sites in that it rests on a rock outcrop that has been modified to accomodate housing. The views towards the as-Salt and the Wadi Shu´aib are spectacular.
